The license

A regulated market does not ask for effort, it asks for proof. When the regulator asks, the answer has to be ready and documented, with a date and an owner. Failing here costs fines and, ultimately, the right to operate.

The reputation

A player who lost control while the operator didn't notice becomes a lawsuit, a news story and political pressure. Protecting players stopped being a marketing line: it became a condition to stay in the market.

The margin

A small share of accounts takes a large slice of the result: professionals, bots, bonus hunters and groups acting together across brands. Without a name attached, there is nothing to act on.

AML Regulatory duty

Can you prove you looked at every player?

Every regulated market lists situations the operator must detect and report. Safefy watches every transaction continuously and keeps the trail ready: who was reviewed, on which criteria, who decided and when.

  • Every transaction risk-scored on the spot, not at month end.
  • Politically exposed persons and sanctions lists checked on their own, with no manual lookup.
  • Every decision on the record: who reviewed, on which criteria and when, ready to show the regulator.

A tiny share of accounts takes a big part of the result.

Bots, professional bettors, bonus hunters and groups acting together are not customers: they are a recurring cost. Safefy names them, with the reasoning to back the decision with your legal team and the customer.

  • Linked accounts identified even when the name and the email are different.
  • Repetition, not coincidence: a group is flagged only when the pattern repeats over time, not because two accounts crossed once.
  • Good customers left alone: the target is the account that costs money, not whoever plays for fun.

Who is losing control in your player base right now?

Behavior changes before the harm shows: the player deposits more often, plays late at night, tries to win back losses in a row. Safefy picks up that pattern early and suggests a proportionate action, from a reminder to self-exclusion.

  • Behavioral risk signals, from chasing losses to a sudden jump in spending; in Brazil, 15 of them were validated in production.
  • Graduated action: first the warning, then the limit, self-exclusion only when it is needed.
  • A defensible history: every intervention is logged, ready to show whoever asks.

KYC Who the player is

Do you know who joined your player base today?

At sign-up and after it: Safefy checks every player against sanctions lists, politically exposed persons and adverse media. Whatever needs a closer look goes to due diligence with the reason in plain sight.

  • Sanctions, PEP and adverse media in one place, with no manual lookup across three sites.
  • False or unverifiable data flagged right at sign-up.
  • Due diligence with its own queue: the case reaches the analyst with what was found and where.

It is how many decisions your team can make with confidence, and what that returns in avoided risk and protected margin. That is how we measured delivery in Brazil's regulated market.

Six questions about every player, all the time

They are the questions every AML and responsible gambling rule asks, worded differently in each country. Safefy answers all six continuously, not only when the regulator asks.

Before we start, we map the rules of your market with you, and tune rules, lists and limits to them.
Who is this person, really?

Sign-up checked against sanctions lists, politically exposed persons and financial crime records, plus a flag for false or unverifiable data.

Where does this money come from?

Source of funds that does not match the profile, amounts split to go unnoticed and deposits coming from high-risk countries.

Does this behavior make sense?

Activity that breaks the person's own pattern, automated betting, volume that jumps out of nowhere and accounts used by third parties.

Is the account being used as a cash box?

Deposits that go in and out with almost no betting, accounts betting on behalf of other people and winnings that raise suspicion at withdrawal.

Is the game clean?

Signs of a fixed result in a sporting event and suspicious arrangements between players who trade with each other.

Are we letting something slip?

The open clause almost every AML rule has, for any unusual trait that fits none of the above. It is the easiest one to leave uncovered.

What buyers ask.

What is AML for iGaming?

AML for iGaming means watching deposits, bets and withdrawals for signs of money laundering, such as money that comes in and leaves with little play. Safefy scores every transaction in real time and explains each alert. Your compliance team acts on it and can prove that it acted.

How does Safefy detect bonus abuse and multi-accounting?

The platform connects accounts through shared devices, payment methods, access points and betting rhythm. When a group of accounts claims bonuses in the same cycle, it flags the link before the bonus pays out. The analyst sees exactly which signals tie the accounts together.

How does responsible gambling monitoring work?

Safefy watches behavior signals such as chasing losses, rising deposits, late-night sessions and attempts to return after self-exclusion. In Brazil, 15 of these signals were built and validated in production. Each alert comes with an action proportional to the risk, from a message to the player to self-exclusion.

Can Safefy support iGaming operators in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Europe?

Yes. The engine proven in production with licensed operators in Brazil's regulated betting market is now available to operators in Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Europe. Rules, lists and thresholds are set for each market's requirements, which we map with you first. Chile has no online betting license yet, so there we start from the anti-money laundering duties already in force.

What has Safefy already proven in a regulated market?

In Brazil's regulated betting market, Safefy covered all 19 AML obligations of Portaria SPA/MF 1.143/2024, player by player, and prepared and validated the data operators sent to the regulator through SIGAP. Every decision kept the audit trail an inspection requires. That is the standard we bring to each new market.
